Production on  the new horror film  LIGEIA starring Tonya Todd and Tim Colceri gets underway
The horror genre has, in recent memory, been inundated with subpar products that have failed to push the genre forward. With audiences mostly getting tired of and rejecting mainstream horror fare, the genre has had to rely on a few Indie Film Directors to keep audiences interested.
With new ideas and interesting takes on unconventional subject matters, these select few horror entries have thus managed to soar as “Terrifier 2” just did this past year
Enters now “LIGEIA”, a new groundbreaking horror film from IFA Pictures that aims to do the same.
Produced by IFA Pictures and directed by Lorelei Lanford, ” LIGEIA” is currently shooting on location in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Lanford has had an extensive history as 1st Assistant Director on numerous feature films such as “Killer’s Mind”and “All Hallow’s Eve” But Ligeia will be her directorial debut

The film focuses on the protagonist Danielle, who has been reeling after the tragic loss of her 7 year old daughter on Christmas Eve.
Struggling to begin her life anew, Danielle’s desire to find closure will lead her down a rabbit hole of the occult and into the jaws of those who promise to return her daughter to her.
Hopeless and alone, Danielle will find herself in the clutches of dark forces, who are about to unleash something terrible in her life.

The film has a fantastic cast. It stars author and actor Tonya Todd who has had an illustrious career in the literary world. It also stars Tim Colceri who worked with the legendary Stanley Kubrick on Full Metal Jacket and has over 70 films under his belt.
Although a namesake of Edgar Allan Poe’s novel Ligeia, the film is not based on the novel’s story and instead charts an interesting new take on the occult phenomenon as one grieving mother goes to great lengths to seek a resolution for her trauma.

Targeting for a fall 2025 release, “LIGEIA” promises to deliver some great thrills and scares.
Most horror film directors celebrated by the industry today delivered on their debut film and Lorelei Lanford is aiming to do the same;
Crafting a complex, emotional horror film that will thrill and shock audiences in more ways than one
